That meal was absolutely wonderful - each component had its own flavour, distinct from the others but together, it worked perfectly! Please extend our thanks to the “Taste of Soul” team.

I had never heard of a Pop up Dinner so when Gwyn explained what it was I was immediately intrigued. Gwyn is a wonderful soul herself and her cuisine is a work of art. It is really obvious that this is one of her passions. You can taste the love the goes into every dish. Everything is so flavourful. The Pop Up Dinner itself was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Well before the event you will get the pleasure of siting down with Gwyn to select your menu. There are many choices to pick from all equally fantastic. We had Fried Chicken, Dirty Rice, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Corn Bread, Apple Crumble, Chocolate Pound Cake. Gwyn arrived at my home utensils and supplies in hand and did not leave my kitchen until after dinner was served and then well after that as well. And looked totally in her element! She left my kitchen immaculate at the end of the night. It was a pleasure to smell all the food cooking through the day. All my guests were very excited about the whole idea and loved the whole experience. They also enjoyed the fact that I was able to sit with them the whole time, which I really enjoyed as well. The Pop Up Dinner would be great for many different events, mine was just because we like to eat great food that I do not have to cook! I would highly recommend hosting a Pop Up Dinner it was a fabulous experience.

Thank you so much for catering our Birthday event in Barrie. The dinner was more than great food. We and our guests enjoyed the entire experience of having someone cook an authentic southern meal for us in our home. You and Shawn were so thoughtful, considerate and professional. BRAVO on a fabulous new business adventure. I can’t wait to recommend you and do this again soon.

Gwyn, I have to tell you, I’d never even heard of smothered cabbage before and I’ve never had candied sweet potatoes, so you are now responsible for my addiction to both! What a great combination! I’m not even finished eating yet but had to pass this along. Everything is so tasty! Great meal! Thanks so much for exposing me to more delicious food.

My Mom, friend Maria and myself just participated in the virtual Jambalaya cooking experience with A Taste of Soul. It was wonderful and so fun. The instruction was clear, organized and fun with unique little tips and tricks. The warmth and obvious passion for creating and sharing recipes A Taste of Soul has is truly felt. It also came with a lot of history about the food and culture which added that extra flavour :). It didn’t take too long and we ended up with the most wonderful meal that had so much flavour and aroma. It felt good to create something so special to share. Making the experience even better was the music they shared in particular a song about Jambalaya. Learning a bit of the history, listening to the music and being with great company was a positive and wonderful experience. Highly recommended! Any Taste Of Soul Experience is like a being wrapped in a cozy blanket surrounded by love.

Not only did I learn the What Is and How To of cooking Jambalaya, I also had fun while doing it - virtually, via live video class from the comfort of my own kitchen. We had ongoing, real-time dialogue with our awesome instructor hosts Gwyn and Shawn, which provided us with ample opportunity for Q&A as we went along. The added benefit of the professional quality up-close point of view live video stream was the equivalent of being in my teacher’s kitchen looking over their shoulders. A great experience in all respects. Warm thanks to A Taste of Soul!

Thank you "A Taste of Soul!" by Gwyn Beaver for dinner tonight. Just the perfect amount of heat. Jambalaya my way(I added the spinach 'cause I need my greens). You can find Gwyn's dishes at Farm2Door in Tiny and at some pop locations. Yummy!
